Foundation Announces Kenneth & Janice Sutton Nursing Scholars
Published on October 19, 2023
The Ozarka College Foundation has announced the 2023 Kenneth and Janice Sutton Nursing Scholars. Each recipient will receive a $3,000 scholarship for the 2023-2024 academic year. Mr. and Mrs. Sutton began offering scholarships to students enrolled in the nursing program at Ozarka College - Mountain View in 2011.
This year's scholarship recipients are Karen Condrey, Bart Crymes, and Ashlyn Lewis.
· Karen Condrey helped take care of her grandmother during her passing which developed her desire to become a nurse. She has three young daughters that she wants to set an example for by creating and reaching their personal goals.
· Bart Crymes is currently a Respiratory Therapist but wants to be able to provide more holistic care to the patients he interacts with. Being a nurse will provide him with more flexible job opportunities to spend time with his wife and three children. Receiving the scholarship is a blessing to him to reach his goals of becoming an LPN.
· Ashlyn Lewis is a recent Timbo graduate who worked hard through her Junior and Senior year of high school to obtain her LPN Prerequisites. She plans to push through and obtain a CRNA degree. Her goal is to work at SCMC to obtain experience and in the future be a traveling CRNA.
"We are grateful for the Sutton's strong commitment to our Mountain View nursing students," said Dr. Josh Wilson, Ozarka College vice president of advancement. "The Sutton's continued support shows how they value the powerful impact education provides for our students and for their local community."
